Put your site online

Your download is a complete website: plain HTML, CSS and images. Any web host can serve it, and several do it free. This takes about five minutes the first time.

Before you download

The one-click way: SinePress Hosting

Press Publish in the editor, pick an address (your-name.sinepress.page) and your site is online. Later, Update site puts your changes online, and Restore previous version undoes the last update.

Your own domain with SinePress Hosting

  1. In Publish, choose Use your own domain and type it with www., for example www.ashasbakery.com.
  2. At the company you bought the domain from, open its DNS settings and add the record SinePress shows: type CNAME, name www, pointing to customers.sinepress.page.
  3. So that ashasbakery.com (without www) works too, turn on the registrar's free forwarding (sometimes called redirect) from ashasbakery.com to https://www.ashasbakery.com.
  4. Back in SinePress, press Check again. It usually works within minutes, sometimes an hour. HTTPS is set up for you.

Or host it yourself, free

Netlify (easiest)

  1. Unzip the file SinePress downloaded.
  2. Go to app.netlify.com/drop and sign up (free).
  3. Drag the site folder from inside the unzipped download onto the page. Your site is live at an address like sunny-cake-1234.netlify.app.
  4. Using Netlify Forms for your form? This is the host to pick: submissions appear under Forms in Netlify.

Cloudflare Pages

  1. Sign in at dash.cloudflare.com (free).
  2. Workers & Pages → Create → Pages → Upload assets.
  3. Name the project, then choose the site folder.

GitHub Pages

  1. Create a public repository on github.com.
  2. Add file → Upload files, and drop in everything inside the site folder.
  3. Settings → Pages → deploy from the main branch. Links work in a sub-folder too.

Already have web hosting (cPanel, Hostinger, GoDaddy…)? Upload everything inside the site folder into public_html with the host's file manager.

Use your own domain (other hosts)

Buy a domain anywhere (Namecheap, Cloudflare, GoDaddy…), then follow your host's "custom domain" steps: Netlify under Domain management, Cloudflare Pages under Custom domains, GitHub under Settings → Pages. HTTPS is switched on for you.

Change your site later

Edit it in SinePress, download again, and upload the new site folder the same way (on Netlify: Deploys → drag the folder).

Your backup comes with every download. Next to the site folder is a .sinepress file. Keep it (don't upload it): opening it, or the whole ZIP, in SinePress brings your site back on any computer, ready to edit.
